\Ellyzabeth developed a multidisciplinary approach to teaching children literacy, social-emotional learning, and the artistic process, believing that early cultivation of the imagination and critical thinking skills would initiate a life-long quest for learning, curiosity, and social and civic engagement.
Believing in bringing quality arts education to children, she started the art educational component of Chicago Danztheatre Ensemble, which created opportunities for artists to work as teachers and visiting artists in Chicagoland schools and community centers, specifically focusing on areas without other arts programs. Her work has been with kids of all backgrounds, special populations and adults with developmental and physical disabilities.
For the last 23 years, she has taught dance, art, theater, and poetry for public and private schools throughout Chicago, as well as many community and social service organizations and the Chicago Park District.
One of Ellyzabeth's favorite teaching moments was teaching dance and art in India at Baale Mane home for girls. It was a learning experience not only for the girls but more importantly, for Ellyzabeth.
